On 5 September 2026, St Agnes PU College celebrated Teachers’ Day. Students
built excitement for Teachers’ Day by channelling their creativity into a thrilling
line-up of pre-event quizzes and talent shows. The celebration served as a heartfelt
tribute, honouring the incredible dedication and hard work of both the teaching and
support staff.
September 5 dawned with a warm welcome by the students, who had meticulously
planned a series of games and a wide range of activities and programmes to engage
the teachers and make them feel appreciated. The programme commenced with a
prayer, a skit, dances and entertainment galore, including the presentation of small
tokens of appreciation. The spot games brought out a playful side of the teachers,
giving them a perfect chance to unwind. Laughter and team spirit filled the air as
everyone jumped into the activities with great enthusiasm. Mahima Alvares and
Kashish were the charismatic emcees who skillfully guided the entire event, while
Rose Mary proposed the vote of thanks.
The college cabinet and students took the initiative in planning how the day would
unfold and worked tirelessly to ensure that teachers were pampered and made to
feel like VIPs. The Principal, Sr Norine D’Souza, wholeheartedly thanked the
students for the efforts taken to make the day a delightful one.
After the students’ heartfelt games and cultural programs, the PTA took charge of
the celebrations with a lively variety show and entertaining games for the teachers.
The event concluded with a sumptuous fellowship meal hosted by the management
in honour of teachers.
The celebration was a memorable one, reflecting the deep respect and affection the
students and the PTA members have for the teachers. The event concluded with a
vote of thanks by Mrs Vijayalakshmi, Lecturer in Physics, who acknowledged the
efforts of Mrs Vinutha DSouza, PTA Vice President, Mrs Candida Fernandes, PTA
Joint Secretary and all the PTA members in making the day a memorable one for the
teachers.
