Retreat & Prayer Day
Prayer can be a personal and meaningful experience regardless of one’s faith or beliefs. It is a way to connect with the divine, find inner peace and seek guidance and strength in life’s journey.
St Agnes PU College conducted a two day retreat for the catholic students on 20th and 21st July 2023. The Vice Principal, Sr Janet Sequeira greeted the gathering. The purpose of this retreat was to provide an opportunity for personal reflection and spiritual growth. The retreat led by Rev Fr Anil FernandesSVD and Rev Fr Praveen SVD began with praise and worship to engage the students in spiritual reflection. Fr Anil emphasised that spirituality begins with a smile and also helped students understand that the word of God is Power, Plan and Promise of God. Fr Praveen reminded the students that life is a gift which we shouldn’t take for granted as God has created each one of us with love and care in his own image and likeness. Eucharistic Adoration helped students to spend time in silent prayer and contemplation before the Blessed Sacrament. The retreat provided an opportunity for students to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation allowing them to seek forgiveness, repentance and spiritual renewal. The Eucharistic celebration on both the days helped strengthen the relationship with God.
Prayer day was also conducted for the non-Catholic students in the college auditorium by Rev Fr Walter and Rev Fr Praveen. Fr Walter accentuated that life is precious and the beauty of life lies in its uniqueness and the opportunities it presents. The thought provoking videos touched the hearts of students as they realised that it is not the external features that makes one great but it is determination, dedication and discipline in life which helps us attain our potential, Fr Praveen gave valuable insights on how relationships are an integral part of our existence and it plays a fundamental role in shaping lives.
Students actively participated in the action songs and the interactive discussions held. Retreat and Prayer Day proved to be a valuable and enriching experience for the students. The focus on self-reflection and prayer contributed to the holistic development of the students, nurturing their wellbeing and fostering a positive college environment.
