Orientation Programme for the Second PUC students
St Agnes PU College organized an Orientation Programme for the Second PUC students
on 18th May, 2026 in the college auditorium, with the aim of helping students smoothly
adapt to the new academic phase while building confidence, responsibility and a positive
outlook towards learning. It also encouraged students to embrace new opportunities,
focus on personal growth and well-being, and strive towards academic excellence
through active participation in the learning environment.
The programme began with a prayer song by Princita and team, invoking God’s
blessings, followed by a warm welcome speech by Alisha. The event then proceeded
with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony, symbolising triumph of knowledge
over ignorance and hope over darkness.
During the programme, the Second PUC Board Examination 2026 toppers, distinction
holders and centum scorers were felicitated and appreciated for their outstanding
academic achievements.
The Chief Guest, Dr Rameela Shekhar, Mental Health Professional, Manashanthi,
Mangalore, expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the academic achievers and wished
them success in their future endeavours.
In her special session for the students titled, Manomitram – Mental Health Awareness
“Becoming a Better Me”, Dr Rameela Shekhar highlighted the importance of emotional
well-being and the need of self-prioritization for overall development. Through sharing
of real life instances she motivated the students to set clear goals, develop effective time
management skills and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Her inspiring interaction encouraged
students to maintain a positive mindset and balance in their academic and personal lives.
Principal Sr Norine D’Souza addressed the students and shared important guidelines and
words of encouragement for the academic year ahead.
The programme was effectively coordinated under the guidance of the conveners
Mrs Supriya Shenoy, Mrs Anitha Shenoy and Ms Venessa Lee. Haya Mansi compered
the entire programme and ensured its smooth flow throughout.
