Kannada Debate Competition

In today’s era of fast changing ideas and opinions, the skill to think critically, speak confidently and present logical arguments is more important than ever. To encourage this a Kannada debate competition was organised for I & II PU students on July 20, 2026. The program was organised by our beloved lecturer in Kannada Mrs Shailaja maam. Under her guidance and efforts, the event was conducted really well and was a big success.

The programme began with a warm welcome address by Thanmay Acharya, Arts Secretary followed by an overview of the events rules and regulations. The topics chosen were contemporary and thought provoking, encouraging students to research and form their own opinions. The judges for this competition were Mrs Chaithanya who has rendered her service at St Agnes PU College as a former physics lecturer and Mrs Vijayalakshmi, lecturer in Physics.

Their expertise and impartiality ensured fair evaluation of each debate and selection of winners based on merit. The debate topics covered a wide range of thought provoking subjects like ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಮಾನವ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಸೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇ? and ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಫೋನ್ ಬಳಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧ ಹೇರುವುದು ಸರಿಯೇ? for the I & II PU students respectively. A total of 15 students from I PU and 20 students from II PU participated in the competition.
