Session on ‘Child Marriage’
‘A child's dreams should be of playgrounds and laughter, not veiled by the shadows of early marriage’
St Agnes PU College in collaboration with DKPU Board organised an informative session on 'Child Marriage' on 9th November 2023. Mrs Gowri K, Juvenile Justice Member, Directorate of Child Protection, Government of Karnataka was the resource person who brought awareness about the ill-effects of child marriages and the unknown facts it. She informed that even though India is progressing rapidly, child marriage is one of the causes that interrupts India's growth and unfortunately, our state is also contributing to it. She highlighted some of the prominent reasons for child marriages. She explained the procedures on how the common man could save the victim of child marriages.
Mr Jeevan, Department of Hindi welcomed and introduced the resource person who was greeted by the Principal, Sr.Norine DSouza A C with flowers. Ms Liekitha proposed the vote of thanks.
