Bhavavallari Singing Competition
On 11.08.2023 our esteemed college organized a mesmerizing event, BhavavallariSinging Competition, which celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka through soulful melodies known as Bhavageethe and Janapadageethe. The competition aimed to provide a platform for talented students to showcase their musical prowess, while also promoting the appreciation and preservation of this traditional art form.
The event was organized by the Cultural Committee of our college, with the support of dedicated faculty members. The competition attracted a significant number of participants from various streams, eager to showcase their vocal skills and artistic interpretation of Bhavageethe and Janapadageethe compositions.
The contestants gave their best performances in front of audience and distinguished judgesMrs. Shubhavani from the Dept of computer science and Ms Raksha from the department of biology.Participants were assessed based on various parameters, like vocal prowess, emotive delivery, interpretation, technical proficiency, and stage presence. The judges strictly adhered to the essence of Bhavageethe and Janapadageethe, emphasizing the ability to convey deep emotions through musical expressionShreeraksha II PCMB ‘A’ batch, Shreya I PCMB ‘B’, Shreya George I PCMB ‘C’ and SaanviKottary I PCMC ‘D’ were the winners of the Bhavageethe competition. PraveenyaSuvarna I PCMB ‘A’ andShrinidhi Alva II PCMC ‘D’ were declared the winners of Janapadageethecompetition.
The BhavavallariSinging Competition provided an incredible opportunity for the students of our college to immerse themselves in the richness of Karnataka's cultural legacy.
