The Hair Donation Drive organized by St Agnes PU College in collaboration with Mercy Academy and Flyhigh Charitable Trust was held on 6 November 2023 in the auditorium with the aim of contributing to a noble cause. The Chief Guest Dr Sharon Deepti Rasquinha, Gynaecologist was the esteemed personality who graced the occasion. She lauded the donors and the institution for taking this positive initiative. She emphasized the need to cultivate kindness and empathy in these troubled times. She gave an anecdotal reference to the time when she had donated hair as a student. She spoke about how cancer can be a traumatic experience and gestures like these go a long way in bolstering the spirit of patients.
The primary objectives of the event were to collect hair donations from willing participants to make wigs for cancer patients & to raise awareness about the importance of supporting individuals fighting cancer. It also helps foster a sense of community and philanthropy within our college. The event was planned meticulously in advance by the convenors Mrs Olivia Patrao, Department of Arts, & Mrs Arshiya Patel, Department of English.
