26th of July, also known as “Kargil Vijay Diwas”, a day dedicated to the martyred soldiers of our country. The NCC cadets of both Army and Air Wing celebrated “KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS” in the conference hall at St Agnes College. This day is significant in the history of India as it upholds the sacrifices of the brave soldiers, who died for the nation. To address the gathering on this great day we had Lt Col Gracian Sequeira, Administrative Officer, 18 Karnataka Batallion, Mangaluru. To have served the nation for more than 30 years, he recollected his training days, his involvement in the mission “Parakram” etc, he spoke about the valour and bravery of the Indian army, which selflessly fought for the victory. A movie on “kargil War” was shown to the Cadets that explained the causes, and effects of the war. It also showed a list of soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. NCC Cadets had put up a heart-wrenching skit that focused on the life of soldier. It was acted out well and caught the audience in an awe .Dr R Nagesh, an Ex-service man and HOD of Hindi Department also shared his life experience in the army. The gathering was then addressed by Dr Sr M Jeswina A.C, the Principal of St Agnes College. The programme was concluded by singing our national Anthem.
